I have been neglecting my bookmaking practice the last few months so I figured I would ease back into it with a few decorated moleskine notebooks. I have illustrated a few notebooks in this style and use them personally myself as an artistic/creative log. I find it to be very therapeutic to write about my paintings and how I feel about my creative process.
These abstract notebooks are a great way to start a daily writing habit. I have tested them out myself, I carried mine around for a few months and stuffed it into multiple bags to make sure the cover holds up to the end, which it did.
These notebooks for sale in my Etsy book shop, Das Buch.

The concept for this little painting was dreamed up late one night while I was working on another project. I grabbed a scrap piece of paper and scribbled it down so I wouldn't forget. The next day I sketched it out in my sketchbook and then slowly started the painting.
I wanted this painting to be whimsical and fun. I used various photos for reference but for the most part I just made it up as I went. I almost like the sketch more than the painting which makes me think I should have executed it with watercolours instead of acrylic paint.
"The Meeting Place" is 8" by 10" acrylic on canvas and listed in my Etsy shop!
